“Connection is why we are here.
We are hardwired to connect with others.”
~ Brene Brown
Giddy Up is a group for high school-aged teens and their parents/caregivers looking to improve relationships with themselves and others through the healing power of horses.
Giddy Up is offered to high school-aged teenagers for 6 weeks, in addition to offering parents/caregivers of participants two weeks of psychoeducation and skill building, to help improve communication and connected relationships. Participants and caregivers will be supported by licensed therapists and graduate-level counseling interns. The first meeting on September 12th and the last meeting on October 17th, are open to parents/caregivers of participants.
Throughout the group, participants will learn about themselves through mindfulness practices, skill development, and relationship building. Horses allow for a safe and unique learning opportunity where participants can explore their boundaries, personal awareness, safety, and relationship patterns.
