Medicine Horse is currently accepting boarding inquiries! At this time, we are accepting inquiries for horses between 8 and 22 years of age and are especially looking for mares based on our current herd composition and facility needs.

 

Submitting an inquiry form does not guarantee availability or acceptance into our boarding program, but it helps us learn more about your horse and determine whether Medicine Horse may be a good fit.

Medicine Horse is a Colorado nonprofit that offers free/donation-based equine-Facilitated psychotherapy and learning sessions. We strive to be an industry leader in what we do. This includes our horse keeping and care.

All boarded horses participate in our therapy program. In exchange for their participation, we offer a beautiful, tranquil facility with lower boarding rates. This is also a benefit for the right horse and human that appreciate that we provide their furry friends connection and that their horses are helping others.

A Casual Connected Community

12' x 40' outdoor run/shelter

$700 per month

We are very grateful for the opportunity to operate and expand our programs at this beautiful, tranquil facility with many wonderful amenities for horses and humans. We are working hard to ensure it will be horse heaven!

AMENITIES

  • Indoor arena: 60' x 120'

  • Large outdoor Arena: 100' x 200'-Dedicated to Boarders

  • Indoor Round Pen: 50'

  • 20 acres of hay fields for riding Oct-Mar.

  • Easy haul to lots of Boulder area trail riding

  • Your trainer may work with you and your horse onsite

  • Trailer parking available

  • No therapy programs on Sunday/Monday, no restrictions on when you can be onsite, shared calendar to manage horse usage.

  • Horses limited to a maximum of 1 group and 1 individual session per day, 2 days off per week.

  • High attention to the horses' needs & health

  • Slow feeder access to hay in turnout, hay bags provided in runs at turn-in.

  • Inclement weather blanketing, fly protection and grain feeding included.

  • Daily turnout for all horses on track system

  • Weekly turnout on pasture-seasonal

  • Temperature controlled main barn

  • Washer available for boarder use

  • Tack Room

  • Restroom inside temp controlled barn

  • Indoor wash stall

Who is a fit for Medicine Horse?

Horses: We are looking for horses who enjoy interaction with humans, are gentle and steady-minded, have good ground manners, and are able to live comfortably in a herd setting. Retired, semi-retired, and companion horses are welcome. At this time, we are accepting inquiries for horses between 8 and 22 years of age and are prioritizing mares based on our current herd needs.
