Louisa McGarty

Louisa serves on the Board of Directors for Medicine Horse where she brings a deep passion for horses, community connection, and service. Originally from the North Shore of Boston, she grew up riding horses, spending time at the beach, and enjoying life on the water. After moving to Boulder in the early 1990s, she quickly became involved in the local equestrian community. Her lifelong love of horses naturally led her to Medicine Horse, where she began volunteering in 2018. She played a key role in organizing the first annual gala fundraiser which has grown exponentially from there. With a professional background in sales, marketing, and customer service within the publishing industry, Louisa brings strong communication skills and a talent for building meaningful relationships and recruiting volunteers. She is especially dedicated to connecting the local horse community with Medicine Horse and advancing its mission.
