About the Program

No matter where someone is on their cancer journey, there is a mental-emotional cost that we help folks navigate at their own pace. Navigating cancer can feel isolating and frightening; participants find solace in connecting with others on the journey sharing stories, resources, and community with each other.

Challenge by choice is a core value here at Medicine Horse which means that participants are encouraged to participate to their level of comfort, we always have shade, chairs, water, and alternative spaces for folks to maximize comfort and our mini horses, donkeys, goats, and sheep can offer connection that may feel less intimidating than interactions with large horses.

Through our six weeks together, our animals offer their presence, support, care, and sensitivity. The herd allows each participant a chance to create a healing and authentic relationship as well as support each other on your journey to wholeness.

This group meets on Wednesdays for 6-weeks. Each group is limited to 10 individuals.

We understand that those in treatment may have days that they feel it best to miss a session for recovery—this is welcome as we encourage folks to get what they need which may mean missing a session or two. However, we do encourage participants to try to attend at least half of the sessions to get the most out of this experience!

Wednesday, July 24th - Wednesday, August 28 (9-11 AM)

This program is funded through a generous grant from Boulder Community Health and is provided at no cost to participants. Donations are always welcome and appreciated.
