Frequently Asked Questions

Can I volunteer in exchange for a discount on services?

Unfortunately this is not an arrangement we can accommodate.  Some of our groups can be discounted and we try to offer scholarships when we can but we cannot exchange volunteer time for services.

Do you offer horseback riding lessons?

No.  Many of our horses are old and retired from their riding careers.  Some of our horses can still be ridden but we do not use them in riding lessons.

I have a horse I'd like to donate to your programs, are you interested?

Please contact our Operations Director, Tabitha Farrar, to discuss your particular horse.  Tabithamhp@gmail.com

Do you accept medicaid or other insurances?

Medicine Horse Program is not in network with any insurance panels at this time although some of our providers are individually in-network with various insurances.  We have limited spots for medicaid clients and interns who can provide up to 8 free or low-fee sessions per year.

I'm an experienced rider and I'd like to volunteer to exercise your horses, is this an option?

Most of our horses are non-riding horses and riding time is limited to our dedicated volunteers who also assist in other ways.
