Meditation has become a buzz word, but what is it really? Meditation is a way to cultivate self-awareness, mental focus and emotional resilience. This class is an introduction to Mindfulness Meditation for children 6 to 14. Through mindfulness exercises, movements and breathing, children will be learning basic mindfulness techniques on how to become aware of their body and their internal experience.
About Catherine Mathon, MA, LPC: Catherine has been practicing meditation for over 10 years and loves to share her experience with children. She is a candidate in the Meditation Instructor Curriculum at Naropa University that will complete this Spring. Catherine is a counselor in her private practice in Boulder, works with mindfulness-based techniques and horses.
