Mr. Neuman has served on the boards of directors of numerous public companies and has been actively involved in the process of capital formation.
Carey Candrian

Carey is a doctoral student in the Department of Communication at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She earned her Master’s degree in organizational communication from CU in 2007. She is a research assistant at CU and is interested in the intersection of power and health, including topics such as medical training, public health interventions, and alternative communicative practices. She served as volunteer and development manager at Medicine Horse Program in 2007 before joining the Board in 2008. Carey particularly enjoys spending time with family, friends and her dog, Oliver.
Karolyn A. Gazella

Karolyn first came to Medicine Horse Program more than four years ago as a volunteer and then as Chairman of the Board. Prior to accepting her position as Executive Director, Karolyn was the President of InnoVision Health Media, a health publishing company. Before that she owned and operated a publishing company in Wisconsin for nine years. She is the founding publisher of the journal Integrative Medicine and the co-author of The Definitive Guide to Cancer (Celestial Arts 2007). Her next book, Return To Beautiful Skin, co-authored with Myra Eby is due out in March 2008. Karolyn is a cancer survivor and has been riding horses since she was seven years old.
Mary Margaret Golten

Ms. Golten is the founding Partner of CDR Associates, a 27 year old non-profit with offices in Washington, DC and Boulder, Colorado. She is a mediator, facilitator, trainer and designer of dispute resolution systems and has worked in this capacity throughout the United States as well as in many other countries. The focus of her work is workplace, community, environmental, and public policy issues.

Restaurants, Inc. based in Louisville, CO and also serves as Secretary
for the Rock Bottom Restaurants, Inc. Foundation.
Jill Marce

Ms. Marce is a successful sales and marketing professional with more than 20 years experiences in working in the corporate environment. With a Masters degree in Education, she taught in Michigan before leaving to become a part of the team that created the Corporate Training Department at Storage Technology Corporation. She has been a member of numerous boards including: Colorado Ethics in Business, Workforce Boulder County, the Boulder Valley Rotary Club, I Have A Dream Foundation and Boulder County Voices for Children. She also currently serves on the United Way Campaign Committee.
Edward McCabe, MD

Dr. McCabe originally came from Colorado Springs, CO and graduated from CU and the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He practiced pediatrics, pulmonary medicine and pediatric environmental health in Madison, WI for 32 years. Retired in 2002 from the clinical practice of medicine and began counseling in the field of child abuse support and prevention. He and his wife, Pixie, moved to Boulder about 3 years ago. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors of Blue Sky Bridge in Boulder as well as teaching young parents in the Nurturing Parenting Program for the Boulder County Department of Social Services.
Paul Raab

Mr. Raab has owned and cared for horses, together with his wife, Sue, for nearly 15 years. Paul and Sue own two purebred Arabians at Medicine Horse, Trystan and Lacey, and are half-owners of Blue, one of the HopeFoal yearling colts. Paul showed Trystan under saddle and in halter classes at Arabian breed shows in Illinois and Indiana for several years. He also was a volunteer horse show announcer for Kendall County (Illinois) Horse Show Association open shows. He is a senior vice president and partner in Linhart Public Relations, a national PR and corporate communications counseling firm based in Denver. He and Sue live in Boulder.

Ms. Sandman is a public relations professional with more than 15 years of experience in the communications field. Her background includes writing, editing, photography and design. She has been actively assisting in marketing and communication efforts for Medicine Horse since 2006.
Diana Slough

Diana has had over 20+ years of extensive service in private banking. As a single parent with four grown children, she is very proud of this accomplishment and is now enjoying four beautiful grandchildren. In addition to working within the banking industry for the last 21 years, she has served on a local non-profit board, The Cancer Patient Services, through these years. She was living in Ohio before moving to Boulder nine years ago. Having animals (horse and miniature donkey), raising children, working with cancer patients and a desire to encourage others to reach their potential has led her to becoming a part of Medicine Horse Program.

Jack Walker

Mr. Walker has been involved in law specializing in real estate and financing and leter in international tax and corporate affairs. Since 1980, he has concentrated on U.S. real estate investment and development. He is actively involved non-profits in our community including acting as Chair of the Colorado Music Festival and a member of Social Venture Partners.
Marsha Walker

Ms. Walker has lived in Boulder for over 10 years and has been actively involved in the community with the following organizations: Founder/Adviser to the Making Amends Fund of the Community Foundation Serving Boulder County, former Board member of Open Studios, Advisory Board member for Growing Gardens, and Advisory Board member for the Boulder International Film Festival.
Sue Raab
Volunteer Coordinator
Ms. Raab brings nearly 15 years of horse experience to her role on the Medicine Horse Advisory Board. She showed Trystan and Lacey under saddle at Arabian breed shows in Illinois, Indiana and at Canada’s Arabian National Horse Show in Saskatchewan. She worked at a show-oriented Arabian training barn and later was a staff instructor at a NAHRA-certified therapeutic riding facility, both in suburban Chicago. Before relocating to Boulder in 2006, Sue and Paul owned a 3.5-acre horse property near Chicago, where they cared for Trystan and Lacey. Sue has volunteered at Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center and has been an active volunteer at Medicine Horse for more than a year. Her educational background and early career involved working with individuals with emotional and developmental disabilities.
Deborah Rylander, M.A.

A psychotherapist, artist, and writer, Ms. Rylander is a graduate of Naropa University with a master¹s degree in counseling psychology. She has a private practice in Boulder and was previously a founder and Chariman of the Board for Friends of Hermann Park, Houston, Texas.
Dorothy Rupert
Dorothy Rupert & Associates Consultant
Dorothy Rupert is a consultant and a former state congresswoman and senator who cares passionately about human rights, health care, families and public schools. Rupert represented District 14 in the Colorado House of Representatives from 1987 until 1994, when she was appointed to the Senate. In 2001, term limits forced her to leave office. Prior to her political career, she was a teacher and counselor at Fairview High School for 17 years and worked in the Boulder High School's counseling department 1980-1987. Rupert also serves on Boulder Community Hospital's Clinical Ethics Committee, which deals with legislation and end of life issues. She is an instructor at University of Colorado at Boulder and is the coordinator of the Youth Council for Public Policy.
Nancy Loving DVM
Dr. Loving is a respected veterinarian in the Boulder area and a member of the Medicine Horse Advisory Board and Horse Care Committee. Dr. Loving is also a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and has authored several books including her most recent, All Horse Systems Go. She also writes articles on horse health topics for several horse publications.
Hildy Armour
Past President Boulder County Horse Association
Hildy is a member of the Boulder County Horse Association and on the board of directors of the Colorado Horse Rescue. She is very active in the Boulder horse community.
Robin Saltonstall, PhD
Robin is a member of the Boulder County Horse Association and also owns Fitness Plus for Horses and Humans. She does therapeutic massage, myofascial release and craniosacral therapy. Robin is well connected in the Boulder horse community.
